GoAH’s membership year runs from the 1st of July to the 30th of June each year. Renewal forms will be sent out to members around mid May each year.
The annual renewal costs are outlined below.

Once your application form is received, GoAH admin will email you with requirements (also listed below), pro rata membership fee invoice and HCA directory invoice.
You will be contacted about your application within 7 working days.
Fees for new members will be the same as for renewing members together with the $50.00 annual fee for your listing on the HCA National Register of Accredited Hypnotherapists. GoAH will collect this on behalf of the HCA and it will passed on in full to the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia. This is only applicable if you have not already paid this fee through another association.
The Guild of Australian Hypnotherapists has the following 5 classes of membership:

Clinical Membership
Provisional Clinical Membership
Academic Membership
International membership
Student Membership
Life Membership may be bestowed upon individuals who have in the opinion of present or future national committee of GoAH have made an outstanding contribution to the Guild and / or the profession in general. There are no annual membership fees payable by Life Members. The only fee payable is the $50.00 annual fee collected by GoAH for listing on the HCA National Register of Accredited Hypnotherapists.
No Life Memberships have been awarded by GoAH and there is no plan to do so at this time.
Life members will
have completed a minimum of 600 hours hypnotherapy training with a GoAH or HCA recognised training organisation
be working as a hypnotherapist in a professional practice
maintain all professional supervision and continuing professional development required by GoAH
have obtained basic counselling and psychological skills within or after their training
maintain professional indemnity insurance, a current First Aid Certificate and a current Working With Children Check if working with children
have voting rights at the GoAH General Meetings, Annual General Meeting and may hold a position on the GoAH Committee
have contributed to the profession as noted above
Clinical members will:
have completed a minimum of 600 hours hypnotherapy training with a GoAH or HCA recognised training organisation.
be working as a hypnotherapist in a professional practice
maintain all professional supervision and continuing professional development required by GoAH including mentoring if deemed required by a clinical supervisor or the committee
have obtained basic counselling and psychological skills within or after their training
maintain professional indemnity insurance, a current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 and a current Working With Children Check if working with children OR police check
adhere to the GoAH Values and Ethics Statements which may be revised from time to time at GoAH General Meetings or Annual General Meeting
have voting rights at the GoAH General Meetings, Annual General Meeting and may hold a position on the GoAH Committee
Provisional Clinical members will
have completed a minimum of 600 hours hypnotherapy training with a GoAH or HCA recognised training organisation.
be in their first six months of clinical practice after which they will be invited into clinical membership at the association’s full discretion
maintain all professional supervision and continuing professional development required by GoAH including mentoring if deemed required by a clinical supervisor or the committee
have obtained basic counselling and psychological skills within or after their training
maintain professional indemnity insurance, a current Provide First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011 and a current Working With Children Check if working with children OR police check
adhere to the GoAH Values and Ethics Statements which may be revised from time to time at GoAH General Meetings or Annual General Meeting
have voting rights at the GoAH General Meetings, Annual General Meeting and may hold a position on the GoAH Committee
Student Membership may be applied for by students who are currently engaged in hypnotherapy training with a GoAH or HCA recognised training organisation. The maximum time a student member can hold this level of membership is 4 consecutive years. Student members are not eligible for listing on HCA National Register of Accredited Hypnotherapists or the GoAH Register of practitioners. There is no fee payable for student members.
Student members
do not have voting rights at the GoAH meetings
may not hold a position on the GoAH committee
may apply for Clinical Membership at the successful completion of their studies. Membership acceptance remains at the full discretion of the committee and limitations may be placed on membership

This level applies primarily to schools and may from time to time, include people who have contributed to research or development of hypnotherapy in general.
This level of membership applies to people who have an interest in hypnotherapy but are not practicing.
This level applies to those members who reside outside Australia and therefore will not have Australian insurance or first aid. International applicants who can demonstrate meeting clinical requirements will be known as International (Clinical) members and appear on the GoAH practitioner directory. Those who cannot meet the requirements will not appear on the directory.
GoAH membership year runs from July 1st to June 30th each year however new applications for membership are welcomed at any time of the membership year and any fees payable will be calculated on a pro-rata basis. The $50.00 annual fee collected by GoAH for listing on the HCA National Register of Accredited Hypnotherapists is not subject to this pro-rata arrangement.
